What is the refill process and procedure? Is PhilRx contacting patients when refills are sent or are they just automatically fulfilled with no notification?

Commercially-insured patients can opt-in to PhilRx’s informed automatic refill program during the enrollment process with Phil. About 7 days prior to the refill going out, we will send a communication to the patient advising that their next refill is coming up. If there have been no changes to the patient’s insurance or copay, no additional direct action is required by the patient to ensure dispense (though the patient may pause/skip/cancel refills as desired).

For patients who do not opt-in to the informed automatic refill program as well as those who are not eligible to participate (e.g., government-insurance patients), Phil will provide regular reminders beginning ~7 days prior to refill dispense for the patient to confirm interest in receiving the upcoming refill. In this scenario, we are unable to ship the refill until the patient confirms that they need the refill.
