Does the provider enter the patient's email address onto the EHR? If not, where?
The email field is optional within the EHR, but typically if the office communicates with the patient via an eChart system there will be an email address available. When prescribing, the HCP can include this as patient contact information or in the "Notes to Pharmacist" section.
